Forest Hayes has spent his career building affordable housing — as a professional in the field, as Chair of the Loudoun County Planning Commission, and today as a Virginia Housing Commissioner. As Commission Chair he pushed for growth to pay for the community it lands on, including calling for workforce-housing investment as a condition of major data-center rezonings. A Howard University graduate and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Hayes ran for the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors in 2019 under the "Run Forest Run" banner, putting workforce housing on the county's agenda years before it became a consensus issue. He is a fixture at community celebrations across Loudoun — from Eagle Scout ceremonies to the Leesburg Fourth of July.
